Kendall Jenner is having a fantastic August. She's dating A$AP Rocky. She's not dating Tyler, the Creator. Earlier this month, she debuted her first American Vogue cover, which only mom Kris Jenner and half-sister Kim Kardashian knew about before it dropped. She moved out of her mom's house, and now she lives next door to Jimmy Kimmel in a $6.5 million estate formerly inhabited by Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. And on Wednesday, she appeared on her new neighbor's show to discuss the "ruckus" she's caused in the neighborhood — the paparazzi quickly caught on to her new digs and staked out the house to catch Jenner coming and going. And amid it all, we can still count on her to pull together a stellar look.
Who: Kendall Jenner.
When: Wednesday, August 24.
Where: On her way to a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles, California.
What: A marigold Gucci lingerie-inspired top and black skirt with contrasting silver hardware, accessorized with Kenneth Cole boots and a velvet Lanvin choker.
Why: Just when we were about to ring the death knell on the choker trend, Jenner offers up a solid defense, reviving it with a newer, cooler trend: the daytime loungewear look. For many, the covetable look is the day-to-night transition — something that is both work-appropriate and nightlife-ready. But with a lingerie-inspired lace, marigold-toned Gucci camisole, she's perfected the reverse, the night-to-day transitional look. That is, she basically gets to go to work in her pajamas — it's the just-rolled-out-of-bed look to the nth degree. The Lanvin choker topping it off is the perfect gothic-inspired accessory to complement her Gucci, and, in velvet, it checks off another box on the fall trend roster; rounding out her choices of accessory are a pair of sleek heeled Kenneth Cole boots and, of course, her recently acquired nipple piercings.
